Pillow-Dex

Pillow-Dex

  • Description

From an paragraph in Margaret Hofer's book "The games we played"

"In Pillow Dex, a precursor of "Table Tennis" players volley a balloon over a net stretched across a parlor table. The idea being to keep the balloon from landing on your side of the table. If you can make it land on your opponents side 10 times you win the game. Pillow Dex was one of the most heavily advertised games of the period."

It seems that there should be another version of the game by Parker. Advertisements of the period note the game selling for $0.25, $0.50, and $1. Pillow-Dex Tennis was $1.25.

In his book "The Game Makers: The Story of Parker Brothers, from Tiddledy Winks to Trivial Pursuit", Philip Orbanes states that a deluxe version in a wooden box cost a $1.00.
